A year after dropping his album Before Dawn: The Sire, Meyniak decided to drop his own version of R.peels' Where Did King Go? (off his Forgive My Honesty EP). Originally produced by DJ Krimz Beatz, this version of the hauntingly mellow tune is made even darker by "the peasant".
There are quite of notable shifts on this track, he starts off mellow, contemplating his future in the industry and his absence at national music events like HIFA and the recently ended . Shoko Festival, that make him feel like lesser of an artist.
As the track progresses the mood continues to become more intense. Coming in at almost 7 minutes it might seem like a long track but I like how Meyniak and Mutare-based producer C Bleech peaced together this track. There's even a snippet from an Nigerian movie lol.
A different feel from his previous effort Skebede. A new school rapper that has the potential to make veterans shiver in their boots. Could we possibly be getting Before Dawn 2?
