It's the weekend and #MYK3 has hit us at just the right time. This one is a bit different from the first two though. Before I go any further you might be wondering what #MYK is. MYK is an acronym meaning MudzimuYapa Kaviri, which is aplay on a well-known Shona saying. This has comprised of duo-releases from Sharky but for this one Sharky decided to drop his first official video (which is a track from #MYK1) Soko Matemai and a new audio called Killin'.
In case you missed #MYK2 you can get it here.
Directed by the fast-rising Zim Hip-Hop video director Chris Shoca Shoko Matemai sees Sharky "lost in the city" because he doesn't know his roots as he asks for the ancestors for guidance. We also get to see some great aerial shots of the Harare CBD.
You can stream the Soko Matemai below
On Killin' Sharky talk about how people have been have been saying that he is wasting hius time with music and that he's just trying to make a killing, figuratively speaking. This track sees Sharky spit the least vernac he's done in a while and doing more English bars like in the initial phase of his career but with more gusto this time around.
