Last night Marcques FINALLY dropped the visuals for Nyarara after teasing with a trailer and behind the scene photos. The visuals were directed by Chris Shoca for Black Phantom Films. Surprisingly this is Marcques' first video.
You may also remember this track being on Marcques & Mile's Lost in Translation album (the download link which is now offline and will be rereleased as a deluxe edition but you can get stream it here).
A lot of familiar faces are in this visual including Crimson Blu (who flew back from South Africa) for this video shoot), IRA and fellow Skati Sami cohort Mile. There's also some (other) eye candy, with one wrapped in just a flag (literally). We also get some shots of Madzibaba Marcques.
I'm sure you're really wondering what I really think of this video right? Well I think Shoca is becoming complacent with his visuals. The same issues I cited in the Thirsty video are the same ones I see here. The opening visual makes one assume we'll be seeing quite a bit of Mbare but alas. The various scenes are grouped together and we will have already seen most of the scenes early on and it becomes just a repetitive cycle. I guess when you are responsible for so many videos you need to constantly up your creativity.
That's my view, you can check it out below and let me know what you think. Hot or nah?
