About last Friday, I was there too at Takura's Stripped Varsity Tour press conference held at Meikles Hotel, Harare (which I had been invited to by Takura's business manager Tannie Ngwena.
I'll save you the blah blah blahs and get straight to the important revelations from the press conference. The Stripped Tour targets varsities around the country and will be broadcast with the aid of a UK-based filming crew and will be released as a film/doccie. All brands involved (i.e. venues, transport providers, dancers, promoters etc) will be profiled throughout the course of the tour.
Takura also noted that Soul Afrika is very much alive and they just took a break to focus on their individual careers. Whether or not the other members of the group are as visible as solo acts remains to be seen.
One Entertainment kept their cards close to their proverbial chests but not revealing any other artists that they are working with, but maintained that they a marketing company that works closely with Zim Hip-Hop artists.
And below, a group pic (that's me peeping from behind Cindy's HUGE hat).
Oh, we got complimentary CD copies of the Stripped EP too. Review coming soon...
