EP Title: Asaph - Diamonds Deserve Diamonds
Overview: It's safe to say that when you hear about Asaph music the default producer you think of is Charlie Zimbo. The rapper/producer duo have teamed up again to bring the love-themed project, "Diamonds Deserve Diamonds".
It has become the tradition nowadays that music is released for the "infamous" Valentine's Day. Every year this day leaves some rich homies and quans feeling some type of way as they seek validation on their love lives from their significant (or not so significant) others.
Standout Track: Goodbye Hello
No. of Tracks/Overall Duration: 4/18:02
Record Label: Independent/Burg Boiz
I liked the cohesive on this EP and also the fact that it is straight to the point (i.e. no filler tracks to "buff" up this project).
Things We Like talks finessing a daije and doing the things you both like. Things are all lovey-dovey here and the honeymoon is still real. You might sense the Asap Rocky-like screwed vocals...
Diamonds Deserve Diamonds talks about how people that are meant for each other should be with each other. The first verse talks about unknowlingly being the side dude, with the relationship always being kept on the DL and being somewhat one-sided. The second verse talks about being in a relationship where you are from different backgrounds and taking the relationship to the next level.
Goodbye Hello is undeniably my plug track on this project. Not to say that the other tracks aren't fuego but... you get my point. This is the transition track, after the breakup to getting over the breakup to getting over the breakup, hence the goodbye (to the ex) and hello (to the daijes that are down for whatever 😀).
After all is said and done one needs to dust themselves off and shine, even with No Light.
Overally Diamonds Deserve Diamonds makes you really want to reevaluate your current relationship. The direction it is taking, whether it's real and if you really are meant to be.
Asaph also recently revealed via his personal Facebook profile that he will no longer be releasing FREE MUSIC after #DDD.
