Jungle Loco's Bata MaStreets: The First Book of Loco was critically-acclaimed and award-winning but will it last?
Considering that 2020 had quite a number of notable albums, having one win album of the year is nothing to sleep on. Jungle Loco (formerly known as Jungle Kid) struck gold after his rebrand and work with 2020’s producer of the year Jonn the Producer. Bata MaStreets was a very ambitious title for Jungle Loco’s third go-around. Does it resonate though?

Spekk Review: One thing you might notice on Bata MaStreets is the new(ish) names that are on here. The most prominent one being Kriss Newtone. Most of the times it works… Coming in at 19 tracks it does feel long, it could use some trimming but where it shines, it shines bright.
Is this Jungle Loco at his best? Contrary to public opinion I think not. It is his best and most balanced and most concise project yet. You have your up-tempo club-friendly songs for those of that disposition around the mid-section and the underground vibe reminiscent of Houz of Hunga is here as well, but more refined.
Hopefully this album will not die down without some visuals. This was billed as Jungle Loco’s last album but I’ve got the feeling that he’s got at least one more in him. After all, this is the FIRST book of Loco, right?
