A look inside Crooger's Koncrete Jango featuring a lot of familiar faces.
Overview: Crooger returns with his third album Koncrete Jango with an Avengers-type list of features, with Poptain, ProBeatz, Anita Jaxson, Tashamiswa, Kyla Blac, Kikky Badass, Asaph among others. Everyone's here, with the exception of Holy Ten and Kae Chaps. With the artwork looking like a post-apocalyptic Harare expectations were high getting into this.
No. of Tracks/Duration: 19/68:
Spekk Verdict: At first glance you'll notice some familiar songs i.e. the award-winning Ginde, my personal favourite Peer Pressure and Munhu Wangu. Ice Lolo, however did not make the cut for the album...
The lion's share (no pun intended) of this album's production is handled by Jonn the Producer, who continues to rack up production credits. Leekay, Rayobeats and King Chief handle the remainder of production.
19 tracks deep (20 if you get the version on Crooger's website) is a lot and today's terms could've easily been a double album. This is a good album, which could've been great if it was trimmed down.
Crooger continues to show that he has mastered the art of catchy hooks and his features don't sleep on the job either. A lot of replay value and hopefully some visuals will follow, as has become Crooger's custom.
