Rising Zim Hip-Hop artist Sharky has revealed via social media that he plans to debut new music (possibly off his yet-to-be-titled debut album) when he performs at his first show of the year, this Friday 26 February. He is billed to perform at Mellow Crème’s Love & Hip-Hop: The Rebirth being held at Alliance Française, located at No. 328 Herbert Chitepo Avenue in Harare. This is a purely Hip-Hop show featuring rappers, poets, dancers and beat boxing.
It's not a surprise for Sharky to perform unreleased songs. “Soko Matemai” which was only released on 30 January 2015 had already become a fan favourite as people who attended all his 2014 shows were familiar with it.
“I prefer being on stage than being in studio, or on radio. Recording is a really draining process for me, I love writing and I love performing. It’s all about the energy when you create and when you get to share that energy with people in person, live on stage. It’s amazing. I have performed unrecorded songs before. I can’t say which songs I’ll be performing on Friday, I just want people to come through and get the exclusive scoop for themselves” says Sharky.
Tickets for the show are going for $5, which is payable at the venue, or one can contact +263774265980 to buy in advance.
If like me you have witnessed Sharky on-stage before you'd know that this is an event not to miss!
Other artists scheduled to perform are Synik, Younique, popular Harare choreographer John Cole, D-Blok, Most Quotable, Joey Joe, Fadzoh & Mellow Crème himself.
