Sharky announces his performance in Senegal at FESTA2H and his Soko Matemai album launch date
Yesterday (25 May 2016, which also happens to be Africa Day in Zimbabwe) Sharky took to his Facebook page to announce MYK4 (well sort of anyway) as he revealed that he will be performing in Senegal at the FESTA2H festival on Friday 26 May 2016 and that his debut album will finally see the light of day on the 25th of June 2016.

FESTA2H is a Senegalese festival featuring rappers from all over the African continent (including Gambia, Mauritius, Mali). A while ago it was Tehn Diamond who was gracing this event. Responsible for linking Zim rappers to this event is Magamba Network (well known for the Hip-Hop influenced festival, Shoko Festival).

The Soko Matemai album, which has been 3 years in the making, first under the working title of Tales of A Shark, then being voted to be named Soko Matemai (like the song), is set to be one of the most anticipated Zim Hip-Hop albums after the critical acclaim that Sharky has gotten home and abroad through his mixture of Shona and English raps, even making appearances in some people's Top 5 Zim Hip-Hop artists. The blending of traditional and contemporary language has earned him crossover appeal and had even South Africa's Pro Kid naming him among the artists he'd want to work with.
It looks like this is the Year of Soko Matemai.
